RMP Steering Committee Meeting

The SC discussed RMP program management and data management, considered the plans and outline for the 2012 "Pulse Lite" and the Annual Meeting, and was updated on current activities in the RMP's Sources, Pathways, and Loadings workgroup.

Joint CTAG-TRC Meeting

The annual joint meeting between the Commission’s Technical Advisory Group (CTAG) of the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project (SCCWRP) and the Technical Review Committee (TRC) for the Regional Monitoring Program for Water Quality in San Francisco Bay will be held at the San Francisco Estuary Institute (4911 Central Avenue Richmond, CA 94804), and will focus on lessons learned in Regional Monitoring in the morning, and nutrients research and collaboration in the afternoon.

RMP Technical Review Committee Meeting

The TRC discussed the upcoming joint meeting with the Southern California Coast Water Research Project (SCCWRP) technical advisory group, and was updated on a few on-going research projects. Partnerships with the USGS and Stanford University are leading to new results on the sediment budget in the South Bay (below the Dumbarton Bridge) and nitrification rates in the Bay, respectively. The group also learned about a journal article coauthored by Susan Klosterhaus on flame retardants in foam from baby products that was awarded Best Paper in 2011 in Environmental Science and Technology.

Contaminant Data Download and Display (CD3)

Contaminant Data Display and Download Tool or CD3  is an innovative visualization tool for accessing water quality data for the San Francisco Bay-Delta and northern montane regions. It is the primary tool for accessing and downloading the San Francisco Bay Regional Monitoring Program’s (RMP) long-term dataset and other project data stored in SFEI's Regional Data Center (RDC).

RMP Technical Review Committee Meeting

The TRC was updated on projects from 2011, and will review the detailed work plan for 2012. The group discussed upcoming nutrients work, progress and plans for tributaries loads monitoring, mercury and PCB synthesis reports, suites of contaminants of emerging concerns and dioxin projects that are nearing completion, and the on-going status and trends monitoring and data management work of the RMP.
