SWAMP/RMP/Bight Program Report on Contaminants in Fish from the California Coast

The State Water Resources Control Board's Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP), in collaboration with the Regional Monitoring Program and the Southern California Bight Regional Monitoring Program, has released findings from California’s largest-ever statewide survey of contaminants in sport fish from coastal locations.

Workshop on Nutrient Science and Management in San Francisco Bay

The RMP convened a workshop of national and local experts on nutrients science at the David Brower Center in downtown Berkeley on June 29th, 2011. Concern for the possible impacts of nutrients on Bay phytoplankton and the ecosystem has increased in recent years. The workshop brought together regulators, scientific experts and stakeholders as a first step toward developing a strategy for providing the information needed by managers on this issue.

RMP Emerging Contaminants Workgroup Meeting

Topics from this meeting included: updates on the flame retardant work as well as work on perfluorinated compounds and their precursors, pilot and special studies proposals for 2012, the NOAA Mussel Watch contaminants of emerging concern pilot study in California, and factsheets and profiles of select wastewater contaminants.
