Sacha joined the Resilient Landscapes Program in 2022. She is an ecologist broadly interested in evidence-based implementation and evaluation of environmental management, restoration, and biodiversity conservation. Sacha earned a PhD in Ecology from the University of California at Davis, an MS in Wildlife from Cal Poly Humboldt, a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and was a Living Earth Collaborative Biodiversity Postdoctoral Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. For over two decades she has conducted avian and community ecological research in protected, restored, agricultural, and urban landscapes and has participated in collaborative habitat conservation planning efforts. She prioritizes reciprocity and information exchange among stakeholders and collaborators and is dedicated to diversity and equity along multiple axes in science and conservation.

The State of the Estuary Report evaluates the status and trends of a suite of indicators selected to represent ecosystem health in the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta (the Estuary). 

Quail in Urban Parks (Project)

SFEI is using bird observations from eBird to study habitat suitability and build occupancy models for California Quail to inform the Presidio Trust and other park managers how management interventions could help improve quail survival.
