Clean Water Program

During the summer of 2024, Katie (she/hers) moved from Washington to work as an Associate Environmental Scientist for the Nutrient Management Strategy team’s Moored Sensor Program. This program is within the Clean Water Program. She holds a BSc degree in Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in soil and water sciences from Montana State University and a MSc degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Idaho. Several years of her early career were spent working as a hydrologic technician for the U.S. Forest Service. Prior to SFEI, she spent many years working for the Washington State Department of Agriculture as the Western Washington Surface Water Monitoring Program Lead. In this role, she assessed pesticide frequency and concentrations in surface waters across the state as well as assessed the potential impacts of the pesticides on aquatic life
