Dan Killam received a BS in Environmental Studies from University of Southern California and a PhD in Earth and Planetary Science from UC Santa Cruz. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Haifa in Northern Israel, and then at Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona. He has published on growth seasonality in bivalves, the use of mollusk shells as high-resolution biogeochemical proxies, and on the high-frequency behavioral response of bivalves to productivity, pH and dissolved oxygen variability. He will be applying this experience in biogeochemical monitoring to analyze environmental time series data with the Nutrient Management Strategy.
