Annie is an Associate Environmental Scientist in the Resilient Landscapes program, where she focuses on Bay Area shoreline issues including nature-based solutions, landscape ecology, and climate resilience and adaptation. Her background is in science writing, ecological restoration, and ecosystem science and conservation. 

Prior to joining SFEI, Annie worked as a science and environmental journalist for a decade, writing and reporting stories about natural disasters, renewable energy, climate change, and other science topics. Most recently she was a climate adaptation specialist at the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, where she worked on regional sea level rise planning. She holds a bachelor's degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Bowdoin College and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment.
