The San Francisco Bay Nutrient Management Strategy is a regional initiative for developing the science needed for informed decisions about managing nutrient loads and maintaining beneficial uses within the Bay in response to the apparent changes in the Bay’s resilience to nutrient loading. San Francisco Bay Nutrient Management Strategy partners include including federal and state agencies, local governments, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Funding and oversight are provided by these multiple organizations. The goal of the Nutrient Management Strategy is to lay out a well-reasoned and cost-effective program to generate the scientific understanding needed to fully support major management decisions.
