Join Save The Bay for Climate Conversations and learn how an innovative nature-based approach to stormwater management called green stormwater infrastructure can help cities prepare for the impacts of climate change while improving the health of the San Francisco Bay.

We’ll be joined by Assemblymember Diane Papan, who represents San Mateo County, the county in California that is most at risk of flooding; Alicia Gilbreath, an environmental scientist at the San Francisco Estuary Institute who will explain how this innovative approach helps manage stormwater; and Kira Maritano, Senior Project Manager at Trust for Public Land, who will discuss an exciting implementation of green stormwater infrastructure, Green Schoolyards.

Record wet winters and hot summers mean that cities need to plan differently to make sure residents are safe and healthy. Learn about opportunities to green our cities, the barriers to making this a reality, and the innovative solutions being worked on with partners across the Bay Area.

Climate Conversations is a series of events bringing together climate leaders from throughout the region. Across this series, we will delve into the challenges facing the Bay Area, and the solutions we can implement to ensure our region is resilient to sea level rise and climate change.
