Of the thirteen presentations at the Klamath Basin Monitoring Program (KBMP) meeting in May, a recording of one providing updates on Klamath Dam Removal went viral. Presenter Ren Brownell from the Klamath River Renewal Corporation provided an informative and entertaining update on the removal of four dams on the Klamath River, the largest dam removal project ever attempted. Filled with informative graphics, historic photos, and some as yet unseen images and video of the dam removal project in action, the video of Ren's presentation has reached over 16,000 views on YouTube, easily setting a record on KBMP's YouTube channel. Scientists, locals, and anyone curious about dam removal and river restoration will enjoy this great video.

Visit the KBMP website to learn more about other presentations on dam removal, water quality, and much more about the latest science, monitoring, and restoration on the Klamath River. Randy Turner of SFEI is the Coordinator of KBMP, whose goal is to help stakeholders implement, coordinate, and collaborate on water quality monitoring and research throughout the Klamath Basin. The KBMP provides guidance and technical support for monitoring activities, and promotes the sharing of high quality data to inform resource management within the basin.
