Letitia Grenier released a final report that will be used in decision making for the restoration of the South Bay Salt Ponds. The South Baylands Mercury Project, a three year collaboration between SFEI, USGS and SCVWD, studied how the restoration of managed ponds to tidal habitats likely will affect accumulation of mercury in the local food web. The study focused on the Alviso area, which is downstream of the largest legacy mercury mine on the continent, in South San Francisco Bay.
