Marcus received his BA in Geography from The University of California Santa Barbara where he studied Geography, emphasizing GIS and Remote Sensing. Following graduation, Marcus worked at the FREY Environmental, inc. in Southern California performing groundwater contamination investigations and cleanup. He has also interned at Spacegraph GIS, a small GIS consulting company in Cambria, California, where he digitized land parcels and created habitat maps. At SFEI, Marcus works primarily on the Wetland Regional Mapping Project's Bay Area Basemap, mapping and cataloging wetlands for the San Francisco Bay Area. Marcus has also assisted the Bay Area Regional Water Quality control board providing GIS assistance.
