| Jamie Kass currently works on wetland digitization, geospatial model-building, cartography, and geospatial data quality assessment. He holds a B.S. in Biology and B.A. in English from SUNY Binghamton and a Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University. His Masters project focused on the conservation priorities of the Narrow-striped Mongoose of Madagascar, and he was attacked by the elusive lemur-hungry Fosa while collecting field data, but emerged unscathed, and still firmly values the precious opportunity of being assaulted by an endangered animal. He has worked on a number of projects over the years, including the development of a habitat model for snow leopards in western China, data management for a marine conservation group examining Bay debris, and GIS tech support for Dr. David Ackerly's plant dynamics and climate change lab at UC Berkeley. He currently labors happily with the GIS team to build the Bay Area Wetland and Riparian Basemap. |
