David graduated from the University of California-Santa Barbara in 2010 with a B.S. in Aquatic Biology. While an undergraduate, he performed research examining the effects of wildfire on the resilience of freshwater algal communities as well as the phenology of native plants. He then spent time working with the California Department of Water Resources performing Chinook salmon populations surveys on the Feather River. In his spare time he enjoys baseball, skateboarding, and being outdoors in general. David started at SFEI in 2010 and works primarily with the Watershed Science Program.
